Presbyterian Women has three circles - Elizabeth, Naomi and Sophia. Each circle is designed to be a relaxing, informal and comfortable setting to focus on a combination of Bible study, prayer, fellowship and mission work. Membership in a circle can be supportive of your faith journey and an uplifting, meaningful part of your Christian life. All women of Wayside are encouraged to join a circle.
Presbyterian Women exists to fulfill the purpose; forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, we commit ourselves:
- To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
- To support the mission of the church worldwide
- To work for justice and peace
- To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.
Elizabeth Circle meets the 4th Thursday at 11:30 AM in the church parlor for lunch and discussion.
Naomi Circle meets the 3rd Wednesday at 12:00 PM in the church parlor. Please bring a sandwich (coffee & dessert provided) and join us for daytime fellowship and discussion.
Sophia Circle meets the 3rd Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the church parlor.
Naomi and Sophia Circles are currently studying Celebrating Sabbath: Accepting God's Gift of Rest and Delight. Sabbath reminds us to honor God who honors us by giving us a day each week to reset our pace, our priorities, and our lives. In the 2022—2023 PW/Horizons Bible study, Carol M. Bechtel leads us through a study of Sabbath over nine lessons. Participants will consider Sabbath anew and will come away renewed.
