FALL 2007:WAYSIDE SUNDAY SCHOOL
CE GREETER/SUBSTITUTE LIST AND SCHEDULE
Duties of your position:
1. Arrive at Church by 9:20 a.m.; take a juice container to EACH classroom. Teachers will serve the snacks and drink in their room after the opening exercises
2. 9:30 Pick up your name tag on the table at the end of the hall, and post your self at the SW door to the CE wing- next to music room.
3. Please greet visitors and young children and make sure they get to their respective classes. Watch for adult guest speakers. Check the adult education schedule so you can direct them to their room.
4. Fill in for a teacher who has called in sick or is otherwise unable to teach that morning.
5. Collect the snacks from the classrooms after 10:15 .
6. Collect the offering from the library and put on back desk in the office.
7. Collect the attendance sheets at 10:45 and put them on Keith=s desk.
8. Make sure that there is sufficient help in the nursery.
9. Make sure children are in their respective rooms.
10.Be of assistance if teachers need help or to take a little one to the restroom.
11.Switch with another Greeter if you cannot make it on a given Sunday and LET KEITH KNOW.
12. 10:45 Go to preschool room to allow preschool teachers to leave. Make sure that the parents for the 11:00 hour have arrived.
13. Help parents understand that only children in Kindergarten and younger are to be in the preschool room during the late service.
14. I will remind you each week of your date to serve by E-mail and by telephone.
15. There are index cards to collect from the classes as well. They are for the Trivia Day at the end of the Sunday School year. Please put them each week on Keith=s desk.
16. If you find yourself as substitute teacher unexpectedly, there are also videos we can
show, coloring books, and books to read. Merging two classes might be possible depending on the ages and the number of children in attendance.
17. You serve as the second adult in a teaching situation when only one teacher is in the
room. Our Shepherding Program requires that you be available throughout the hour.
18. Since you may be called upon to teach and you serve as a second adult for Sunday
School, an application for teaching seems consistent with our policy.
19. We will be having a fire drill from time to time. The children and teachers are to go into the parking lot and teachers are to check the attendance records for each child. They will report to you if all the children are present. Adult classes are to help evacuate the younger classes. So you will need to alert them about the drill if they have not heard the alarm.
