Wayside

I never imagined that I would serve one congregation this long (fifteen years now and counting), yet there is always so much ‘newness’ about Wayside – new people, new programs, new opportunities to grow and serve – that each day is a new adventure filled with new challenges.  The Spirit is certainly present here and I’m grateful that an openness in this church family to following in the way that God is preparing for us. It is definitely an exciting place to be.

My wife, Karen, teaches first grade in the City of Erie School District.  She also is involved in the leadership of Presbyterian Women here at Wayside and in the Presbytery.  Our oldest daughter, Katie, is a Peace Corps Volunteer, serving as a science and chemistry teacher at a girls secondary school in Pujehun, Sierra Leone.  Middle daughter, Hannah, is a senior at the College of Wooster and pondering what comes next.  Youngest child, Emma, is a freshman at Case Western Reserve University and adapting to the whole college experience.  All three did much of their “growing up” here at Wayside and are blessed to consider this their church home.
